A vulnerable masculine consciousness
Ached with anger for the limitations
Of anguish unexpressed,
Grief untouched by tears

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the shortest poem outside of haiku that I have ever written. It is written in memory of a friend who was killed in an 'accident'. None of his friends, including myself, know for certain if it was truly an accident.
He was raised within the "machismo" culture and although his true nature was sensitive and artistic, from birth he was told to be a 'man' and men never cry or show hurt or affection and. If he ever tried, he was mercilessly bullied by both parents.
I have tried to add lines to make a longer poem, but the extra words detracted from what I was trying to say....so this is it, four lines that speak for one man's tragedy.
Any more would be too much. This says it all; you have chosen your words carefully, and it shows.
Jean-
Sometimes the shortest poems have the most meaning. It's easy to decipher the emotion that lies within. Great job!
