Ignorant pride of pretty girls
by Tori Lang
copyright 05-11-2005

Age Rating: 18 to 127

I know this pretty girl
who shed her chrysalis and learned to fly
Her eyes in the past
would so often scream at her reflection
but now that the wind of change has come
she has tasted the wine of forbidden fruit
and has become druken
no longer caring or realising
the potency of her carelessness
and now thinks of her frame
as though it has no sacred meaning
leaving a part of
her soul and dignity
behind at each notch of the belt
the sound of ignorant pride in her voice
makes me scream
as she booasts of the men
that wanted her so badly
to whom she gave herself so freely
and who have now simply disappeared
leaving her beside the road
with a clagged heart
but nothing else.

Unfortunately there will always be girls like this who think the world should revolve around their crazy silly ideals of how people should be. This is an excellent poem and well written. These girls usually end up being the unhappy ones because they've pushed so many people away. Congrats of a great write!

What a sad write, I used to know one of these girls. The wall that they place around them is grand and needs love of a helpful friend and commitment from self to bring it down. Excellent write.

The strugle to be accepted leads some down trails that are not of their choosing. I have seen many girls that allowed themselves to be deflowered for "LOVE" only later to find out it was lust. Sometimes the ones we look up to are really as scared as we are and they too make mistakes. Being pretty does not get you out of heartakes, just gives you more choices and the decision can be harder! Life is unkind, this is a good poem. Anthony

Why do some sell themselves so cheaply?

My favourite lines:
"leaving a part of her soul and dignity
behind at each notch of the belt"

and "and who have now simply disappeared
leaving her beside the road with a racing heart
but nothing else."

Who am: kidding; I like is all.
