~This is a peom I wrote in the second grade. It stuck with me all my life. Only because it took me days to get this together. Hehehehehehe!!! My teacher made a book with all the peoms everyone wrote in that class. I had drawen hearts everywhere on that page!! After that, I've never written anything until I signed up with pnp. Ok, here goes......it's gay.......but remember I was in the second grade! And I did it all alone with no help from my parents (which the other kids, I'm sure, did).~
Hearts are red,
Hearts are pink,
Hearts are anything you think!
A little girl trying to write a poem and worring about hearts in the second grade! Hehehehehehe.

It's a cute poem! I just started writing last year, and for a second grader, it's so cute! Wow... what a coincidence... I'm reading this on Valentine's day! ^-^

Second grade poem.
You made me thinking about when the first time that I wrote poem.
It remind me when I wrote a poem at 4th grade, but it's not in English anyway. I wrote in my language, Thai, and it's about fruits, not love.
Thank you for a very cute poem from the little girl whom you know best.
I too have always loved to write poetry even as a child.
And I think its great to be able to go back over past works and see how much your styles have changed and how much you have grown as a writer.
Hey, there's a lot of "wisdom" just in that second grade poem!! In fact, that innate wisdom, unobstructed by our crap, is what I think poets need to tap into to write good poetry.
Thanks for sharing!
I never even thought of writing a poem in grade two, in fact, I never even thought of writing a poem until February, 2004. Now I'm hooked...what have I done!!!!????
Of course they were helped! How could anyone but you write so well in the second grade? My first poem was in high school and it wasn't much better.
This is sweet and I'm sure all the boys wanted one of your hearts! Thanks, Anthony
