Japanese or English?
by Jenna T. (Age: 15)

Hi everyone,

This question has probably been asked before but...Which version of Sailor Moon do you prefer? The Original Japanese version or the English? I Like the orignal Japanese because...well...I just find it so cool :D The English is cool too, but the voices and the really bad dubbed phrases annoy me.

So what do you think?

Jenna

Japanese definitely. Especially since they reduced the relationship between Haruka and Michiru to mere "cousins" in the dubXD. The original is WAY better.
But, i think the voices in the dub are okay, except Rini's and Serena's; too squeakish! But then again, it took me awhile to accept Usagi and Chibiusa's voices, since theirs are quite squeaky/high too! But, I blab. Anyhow, I prefer the original.
And Sammy, you're not alone...I watch the eps. with English subs too! I aim to see how drastically they change the phrases in the dub. Sometimes they are different, like when...never mind, I've typed enough. But the dubbers do change it sometimes, I know.

I'd have to say the Japanese version, I mute it and but the subtitles on. I haven't memorized all of the Japanese language yet so subtitles are my friends... Intresting topic, I'll ask Jordan too....

The Japanese version, of course. It isn't dumbbed(AKA 'dubbed') down so three year olds can understand it.

Hi jenna!
I'm back! I can't seem to write moon notes for now, but when I can I'm gonna write a big moon note for everyone!
I definitely prefer the Japanese version. Although Darien's voice is still annoying in japanese. I guess he eats too much cabbage or something.

I agree with Sammy and Jenna.

I like the Japanese version better. The English script is waaaaaaaaaaaay off. You can see that when you watch the episodes in English WITH the subtitles (which I do; I know it's kinda weird)and you can see that the phrases are much different from each other! I hate it when anime is like that.
