Imagination
by David Pekrul
copyright 05-17-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Imagination takes me to
A place beyond all time,
A place where I can conquer all,
And always come out fine.

Some think it’s such a waste of time,
For me it really works,
I love to spend my time out there
Where good and evil lurks.

Imagination, is it real,
Or is it all made up?
So, is the cup half full or dry,
Or is it just a cup?

I see things as they ought to be,
And not just how they are,
They say this thinking goes nowhere,
I think it goes quite far.

For when I see God's coloured bow,
I see the pot of gold,
And though I see the Lily Pad,
I never see the toad.

Imagination’s part of me,
At times it’s very real,
And that is why I pen these lines,
I write just what I feel.

I know we say there's a difference between imagination and reality, but sometimes I wonder.

Maybe there's a happy imagination and a serious imagination!?

I know I've never grown up for whatever that's worth.

Done in the inimitable style of David Pekrul.

Good write! (as usual),

Rich

Lighthearted and sincere. How wonderful that we all appreciate each other's work, too.

Well done, a delightful poem.
I dread to think what life would be like without a vivid imagination.
All those worlds and wonders that I would never see.
There are some who appear to lack imagination, just as there are those who boast that they have never read a book. I pity them.
Brian.

Another great poem from another great writer!! Awesome job! I agree with Anthony on how it just rolls off the tounge. I believe that the greatest gift we have is our imagination because it takes to places that we may never go, but dream of being there. Congrats on a great write!

And you write well. This is a wonderful poem. It flows right off the tounge. I love the lines,

"Imagination,is it real,
Or is it all made up?
So, is the cup half full or dry,
Or is it just a cup?"

This is a great passage and words well penned. Thanks for this it made me smile! Anthony
