On 05/19/05 (which, right now for me, is tomorrow) my eight grade class is putting on a play called "Diversity Days." In it, we have scenes that have something to do with tolerance and why it is so important. The little skits that make up the play are from books and events in the past that represent tolerance. The scenes we're doing are:
-A Light in the Forest
-The Civil War march (the chant is on my author's page)
-Harriet Tubman scene
-The Boys' War scene (which i'm in!)
-Christmas in the Trenches
-Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry
-"Hey Brother Can You Spare a Dime?" song
-Number the Stars
-Farewell to Manzanar
-A scene about Emmitt Till (sp?) to a song
-"Blowin' in the Wind" song
-Jackie Robinson scene
-Ceasar Chavez scene
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. scene
-"Diana (courage)" song
-The whole eight grade comes up to sing "I'm Proud to Be an American"
I think that's the order... I don't really remember right now ^^; well, wish us luck! I hope it'll be enjoyable
