And then there was you.

This page has been left blank
for so long
bearing no verse or rhythm or rhyme
My portrait has stood unfinished
upon it's easel, amongst the shadows
the fading water colours, dull and lifeless
no longer dancing across the canvas
and then there was you
painting me in vibrant reds
leaving my whole being feeling as if
it is a butterfly released from a box
wrapped in brown paper and string
Awakening parts of my soul
i never knew existed
and then there was you
peering into my eyes
capturing something
so fresh and so new
leaving me breathless
wanting you
to entangle myself in your limbs
to run my fingers through your hair
and down your spine
and then there was you!.

"And then there was you", says it all!

In this world of ever increasing materialistic obsession, it is delightfully refreshing to find one who has stubbornly clung to her emotional life. You my Dear, are unique, like your beautiful heart felt poetry. Keep holding on and and nurture this gift.

Your imagery was indeed great, and your poem flowed well.

Please come back nd write some more or I shall bug you forever.

Your new friend, I hope,

Rich

Great imagery and symbolism. Though we, too, can create our own selves with beauty and wonder.

Some people go through life without ever really knowing what it feels like to "completely" love someone. To hurt when they hurt, cry when they cry and to feel entangled with their soul. A love that can awaken you from life's slumber and let the sun shine again! " And Then There was You " Thanks, Anthony
