My heart is a-pounding,
I’m all in a sweat,
I’ve travelled to Vegas
In order to bet.
I’m playing the big boys,
Just hoping to win,
But so far my chances
Are looking quite slim.
I started with nickels
And moved on to quarters,
My wife was beside me,
A real big supporter.
I won just a little,
And then won a lot,
Then greed got a hold
And I went for the pot.
With Blackjack and Poker,
And Keno; can’t stop,
From slots to the big-time,
In one giant hop.
My wife says she's tired,
And she’s had enough,
She said she will leave me,
I think it’s a bluff.
I play and I gamble,
There’s no end in sight,
I’m blinded by greed,
Not aware of my plight.
I’m stuck here in Vegas,
It’s one-of-a-kind,
For though I am losing,
I think I’m doing fine.
The Club is now building
A place with more space,
I’ll lose all my cash
In a fancier place.
And I’ll keep on playing,
I'm in a real bind,
I’m living in Vegas,
Going out of my mind.
