I

The Gambler From Reno

There once was a gambler from Reno,
Who spent all his time playing Keno,
But he had no luck,
He lost his last buck,
Now begs in the front of casinos.

II

Wacky Jackie

There was a young lady named Jackie,
Who people thought dressed rather tacky,
Wearing jeans with a thong,
Ripped where they don’t belong,
Was not only tacky, but wacky.

III

Rufus The Dufus

There once was a biker named Rufus,
Who acted like some kind of dufus,
Drove his bike without hands,
To impress all his fans,
Now Rufus, the dufus, is toothless.

IV

Heather's Feathers (Part 1)

There was a young lassie named Heather,
Who played on the beach in hot weather,
She thought it a sin,
Just dressed in her skin,
So covered herself with three feathers.

V

Heathers' Feathers (Part 2)

Remember the beach-babe named Heather?
Who covered herself in three feathers?
The boys were aware,
And started to stare,
So now she wears tight shiny leather.

These were great limericks. I always enjoy a good limerick.

Great we are all too serious. Poetry can be fun as well as solemn. "Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone" Tears only make your eyes red and stuff your nose up.
Laugh a day has to be good. Thanks.

Fun, how these break the ice and add humor to so much poetry that we sometimes make all too solemn and melanchology, myself included. (I got a couple of limericks somewhere on my list). Humor is such a good communicator, too. It brings us together as much as the "serious" stuff.
