Written for my mother on her 85th birthday
The celebration’s in full swing,
And we are all delighted,
To share this special day with you,
With birthday candles lighted.
So make a wish and blow them out,
(Don’t say what you were thinking),
As we all raise our cup to you,
A toast with glasses clinking.
A birthday wish to celebrate
The day that you were born,
And may God richly bless your day,
And peace on you adorn.
