Looking Back To Laugh
by David Pekrul
copyright 06-06-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

They say that one day we will laugh,
But I ain’t laughing yet,
I gave you of my heart and soul,
And this is what I get.

You used it up and tossed it out,
Just like a piece of trash,
You said you loved and cherished me,
You’re in it for the cash.

For someone said that I was rich,
A word you love so well,
I’d never let you get that close,
If only I could tell.

You used your charm to get to me,
Was nothing I could do,
And when you found out I was poor,
You said that we were through.

But Baby, I’ve got news for you,
I’m richer than you think,
I found someone who needs just me,
And doesn’t need a mink.

Now I am happy, how ‘bout you?,
I really somehow doubt it,
Good luck in finding ‘Mr. Right’,
The way you go about it.

The lessons we learn in life are tough. When the heart is wounded, it takes a while for it to heal. It's all about time, the great cure-it-all. This is a lovely poem, full of emotions and concerns. It will take you a while to get over it, but eventually you will.

Get over the pain by knowing you have grown as a person. Get over the memories by making better ones. Enjoy the life you have and quit worrying what she is doing. If you loved her once...you really don't want her to get hurt, that's just pride and you can swallow that. This is a good poem and I do understand the feelings, I'm just trying to be a better person now a days. Thanks, Anthony

Ah, David, she's not looking for Mr. Right.
She's looking for Mr. Right Now.

Girls like that always get what's coming to them. :)

And you should laugh. Laugh at your own mistake, laugh because your happy, laugh because you can forgive yourself for letting her hurt you. Laugh because you're better than that.

Laugh because she's not.

It's kind of cynical and cruel, but in the end, it really is amusing.

Great write.
