Wind and Sea -- or -- Don't Give Up
by Leah Garrison (Age: 20)
copyright 06-08-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

The Wind was moaning through the trees
A lonesome lullaby
Echoed by the heaving Seas -
Unending lilting cry

The Wind - so restless - sought to find
Somewhere to call his home
The Sea - in motion - sought in kind
A settling of foam

Breezes met their father Wind
And begged him not to still
Rivers kissed their mother Sea
Worried o'er her will

If Wind should end his moaning sound
And cease his will to flow
If Sea should stop her swell and pound
Where would their power go?

The life of Wind lies in his wail
The soul of Sea - her tides
Neither strength must ever fail
Lest life and soul - together - die

Wow. Excellent job! You used just the right amount of personification to make the characters of the wind and sea seem real. Great work!
