I don't know what it means to you,
but I can tell you what it means to me.
Something that I thought could never happen,
I believed that it would never be.
You see I'm not a good speller,
took ten years to remember my name.
I never had excelled at spelling
and to me it all seemed the same.
Now since Bob added that button,
on the bottom that says," Check Spelling."
I'm learning all the words I couldn't spell
and why all the others were yelling.
I take the time to click the button
and it shows how to spell the words right.
Sometimes it even catches my type-o's
though they had eluded my sight.
The thing that happens to make me happy,
is when the spell checker makes it's sound.
That little box pops up on the right
and the box says," No misspellings found."

Yes, the spell checker is great. And although it doesn't catch mis-used words (hence the sense and since)... it does what it can which is a great thing. Oh, and if it makes you feel better... even the almighty Canadian David Pekrul spelled "sense" wrong... he typed "sence" instead. LOL.Life is grand, is it not?
Sorry...when your smoking it , it makes it hard to spell it right. LOL sorry I was reliving the sixties again! David, I'm sorry that the English even need a spell checker,y'all never make mistakes and I don't want to be the reason that you don't enjoy retierment...Remember OCTOBER...it's just around the corner....I fixed it now OK?
Hey, how about us poor Canadians and our British friends. This spell checker, along with Microsoft Word spell checker, only pick up words that are spelled the American way. Hey, we're people too, you know, and the English did create the language. Why is there no spell checker for us!? lol
This is too funny. You know me, I'm a real stickler for correct spelling. It drives me nuts when I see words misspelled.
YIKES!!!! I just found one: on the first line of the third stanza "Now sense Bob added that button"
Anthony, the word is 'since' not 'sence'. (Okay, David, calm down, It's going to be alright. Just take a deep breath.)
Really nice this one and i do like that spell checker i just tried it out on my new poem and it does feel good if it says no misspellings found one thing it didn't pick up is in the third stanza in the first line where it says:
'Now sense Bob added that button,'
i think you meant 'since'
part from that another perfect masterpiece by you i enjoy reading your works so keep writing so i have something to read and keep my mind busy :)
Hi Anthony...spell checkers are wonderful things, but don't always rely on them. They do not pick up on many things...like 'their' when you mean 'there' and they will not differentiate between words like 'wander' and 'wonder' and you are on your own when it comes to grammer. I always use the spell checker if there is one, but then I also reread again and again and then again and I still can find mistakes I have made. Spelling in English is difficult!
