The Henny-Penny Blues
by David Pekrul
copyright 06-14-2005

Age Rating: 7 to 127

* A song inspired by the story of "Henny-Penny" - an English Folk Tale

Henny-Penny panics when she thinks the sky will fall,
Henny-Penny hides her head and cries,
Henny-Penny thinks that this is how it all will end,
Henny-Penny thinks that she will die.

Chorus:
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
They worry when there’s nothing they can do,
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
These people have the 'Henny-Penny Blues'.

There’s many people in the world just like our Henny-Penny,
They panic when they listen to the news,
They think the sky is falling and we’re all about to die,
I’d say they have the ‘Henny-Penny-Blues’.

Chorus:
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
They worry when there’s nothing they can do,
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
These people have the 'Henny-Penny Blues'.

They worry about the many things that aren’t in their control,
The things where there is nothing they can do,
They think that they can change world by worry’n’ and a’frettin’,
These people have the 'Henny-Penny Blues'.

Chorus:
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
They worry when there’s nothing they can do,
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
These people have the 'Henny-Penny Blues'.

Let’s try to get a handle on the things that we control,
Where we can make a change by what we do,
If we can help in smaller ways, the larger things will follow,
Then we won’t have the 'Henny-Penny Blues'.

Ending
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
Let’s help in all the small things we can do,
Henny-Penny, Henny-Penny,
Then we won’t have the 'Henny-Penny Blues'.
