(This is a parody song written to the music of Neal Diamonds,"You Don't Bring Me Flowers.")

You don't write us poems.
You don't write us stories.
You hardly post with us anymore.
You haven't logged in for
so many days

I remember when
You couldn't wait to comment,
couldn't wait to rate me.
Now you only come late at night.
When it's good for you
and you're feeling alright.
Well you just hit the button
and log out for the night,
And you don't submit poetry..., anymore.........

Your poetry was original
stories about forever.
But you don't even post anymore,
I wait patiently for more,
day after day.....

And Authors we remember,
All your poems at P-N-P
Some made us laugh,
and some made us cry.
You wrote about love
Some wanted to die.
You thought we'd understand,
why you didn't say, goodby...
And you don't submit poetry..., anymore........

You don't write us poems.
You don't write us stories.
When it's good for you
and you're feeling alright.
You just hit the button
and log out for the night,
and you don't...submit poetry...Any...more.........

R U talking to me? LOL.
I just noticed that I left myself logged in... again... and thought I would look around a bit before bed. I guess I had better hang out more often. I see u wrote this a while back, but it seems to be appropriate now too.
Ok, if you really must have an excuse, a reason why, I will be the first to give one. (u asked for it)
My desktop computer broke, and so my desk got cluttered by piles of who knows what, so I have to use my laptop on my 'lap'... for real... no fun there. Stiff neck and all, you know? And I am a lousy typist anyway... so it takes me a reeeaallllly long time to type. Enough? :D
I am glad YOU are here, though. Probably nobody really misses me... :( -sniffle- lol
and yeah... the song is stuck in my head... oh well.
This one was lots of fun. Read ya later!
Debbie

I'll join all the other commenters in saying this was excellent, Anthony. I'm a big fan of parodies, and you nailed this one. As for the theme itself, I've always found this interesting. The same phenomena happens in real life, too. Co-workers, friends, in-laws, neighbors, etc. all materialize out of nowhere one day and become integral parts of our lives. Then, circumstances change and they disappear. Poof! We're left feeling something has been taken away from us unfairly -- that, at the very least, we're owed an explanation. We want to know why. I'm thinking it's just the river of time flowing by us, carrying these people toward us, and then away. We can't help becoming attached, and we shouldn't try; but that's life.

Funny and sad at once. A well-done parody of one of my favorite songs from years gone by--and now you've got your words running around in my head, thanks very much. Nicely done for all it evokes. Wayne

Indeed! But worse than them not coming back or so seldom being here, that it's sad, is not knowing where they went or why. But if we knew, that would probably be even more sad. This evokes many thoughts, most of them bittersweet.

Haha, I love this. I thought of a couple names while reading it too. XD

Oh Hysteria,
I laughed so hard at myself because I sat here and sang the song to Diamonds tune, now it will be in my head all night. What a talent are you? ;-)
More please!
Amanda

you are so funny. I hope I never tick you off even a little bit but I am sure if I do I will hear about it and so will everyone else and atleast we will laugh about it. I went away for a while but I hadn't been here that long either and with Rita and all I am sure you understand Your the Man. Good job

Gina

Euna's funny! :-) and so are you!

When I looked at the poem title, I hear DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN. I read the poem. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN turns to real music. This is really good.

This was great fun to read. It's true, some people seem to lose interest in writing here sometimes. I'm not sure why it happens. I was gone for four months, but as soon as I got the internet back, I returned to PnP.
To quote Jenna T.,"PnP is the place to be!"

It's like a family here, and though some go on to find another home... I have to believe that part of PnP remains with them. I know through thick and thin, through all the days I was unable to get on the net... I always remembered PnP... and the first chance I got.. I returned. Though my posting still has yet to become "regular"... I will never stop trying! I really liked this. Funny... but sad at the same time, perhaps because it's so darn true!

I love it, even if it is a send-up of one of my all time favourite songs.
I saw the man a few years ago. He has more talent in a little toe than I could ever aspire to.

I had 'writers block' some years ago. I thought that I would never start again. Then my daughter asked me to write a science fantasy story, I did, and have never stopped since.....lol
Boring old B,,,,,,,,,lol
Well done Anthony my Friend, Brian

06-16-2005 David Pekrul

Maybe this will encourage them to come back.

I keep thinking that one day I will run out of poetic things to say and may become one of those you speak of; I certainly hope not.

"Give me inspiration,
Give me words and stories,
And I'll keep writing poems evermore."

LMAO
This is a great poem, Anthony! Though some people who went away, I think some of us are relieved for. v.v;;;; Even pnp has it's drama XD Hehe
