My Maple Barbecued Spareribs
by Betty Eskdale (Age: 63)
copyright 09-20-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

My Maple Barbecued Spareribs modified from Country Guide March‘95

Take 3 Lbs Spareribs
Roast on rack in oven at 425 F 30 minutes
Drain fat from pan , cut ribs into serving size pieces.
Place in bottom of a 9”x13” pan

Meanwhile in a small saucepan combine remaining ingredients and boil for 5 minutes:

1 Cup maple syrup 1 Tbsp chili sauce
1 Tbsp vinegar 1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce
1 small onion chopped
½ tsp salt ¼ tsp dry mustard 1/8 tsp pepper

Pour over ribs. Bake at 375, baste and turn after 30 minutes . Cook 30 minutes more. Skim fat off remaining sauce and serve with ribs.

I don't know why they called this barbecued but I wanted to barbecue so in the summer heat I do this on a rack in my electric frying pan at 350 for the same amount of time then I let the ribs soak in the sauce 15 minutes, then turn for another 15 minutes and put onto the barbecue. Wonderful!!!

Thanks, I love it too!! My hubby brings me home recipes from the Western Producer and with a few modifications I make them my own.
