The Light of My Heart

  The Light of My Heart

Did you know
that you light up the room?
Each beaming smile,
each little "I love you"
given swiftly before you leave,
as an afterthought,
not wanting to part without
saying it
makes life
the most incredible thing
to live.
Your presence,
so short here,
has changed the universe itself,
just because you're you.
And I hope you never feel
the worthless depression,
the wrenching sorrow
that I once did.
Because you are loved,
you are needed,
you are special,
and you are my angel.
And I pray to god,
you'll never forget that.

To my nephew, Seth. You are the true light of my heart, and I love you more than life itself.

This was such a sweet poem. Of course it reminded me of Sailor Mercury as I read it. You really are a gifted writer. My favorite part was at the end where you say 'Because you are loved. You are needed. You are special. You are my Angel.' It's exactly how I fell about Ami and I'm sure everyone else has someone in their lives who makes them feel this way as well. Great Poem!

Aww... this is such a sweet and cute poem! This is so well written!

This is lovely...To wrap the person you love in feelings of security and gentle, giving love; the desire to make sure that they realize they are cared for and respected is selfless. This kind of love is a gift and not a burden....A very beautifully written poem.

This is a nice sentiment. If he is encouraged like this throught his life, he can't help but grow up to be a strong, loving and positive person.

This is so very obviously straight from the heart.
To love and be loved is the greatest thing.
It should never matter who or why we love, just as long as it truly felt.
Not an 'I love you' as a means to an end.
It's good to hear you so upbeat these days, keep it up. Brian
