Asylum
by Brian Dickenson (Age: 73)
copyright 06-19-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

With a nod to Bob Seagar, and the Silver Bullet Band.

Take me to the asylum.
Lock me away; keep me sane;
Keep me in that asylum.
Let me live in the real world again.

Hi Brian,

What's new?

Perhaps the only rationality for the inclusion of the human being in this world, is his/hers irrationality.

Riddle: Is a poem with an irrational form still a poem by anyone's idea?

What do you think of the poetry of ee Cummings?

I always thought you were the free spirit!?

Always your friend,

Rich

You have a keen wit for seeing things as they are, and a sharper wit for condensing it into just the right amount of words. Brevity, the life and breath of poetry. Fred

"with trees and flowers and chirping birds, and basket weavers tha sit sit and twiddle their thumbs all day, they're coming to take me away ha ha!" Sorry had to rollwith Debra's song there.
Great piece.
Keep up the good work.

Yes that about sums it up. We can hardly say that this world is sane. Look around.
Brian.

Strange little commentary. Are you saying that the Asylum is the real world and only those inside are sane? Interesting concept; who knows, maybe they are the ones who have life figured out.

"They're coming to take me away
haha, hoho, heehee,
to the funny farm!
Where life is beautiful everyday
and the pretty white men
in the pretty white coats..." that's as MUCH as I remember, LMAO

PRetty awesome poem. So what inspired you to it?
