Melting snows run to rivers
The barren Earth drowns

Wow...just those few words, and you could hear the beating of the rain, the way the mud sloshed down from pouring drops, everything. This is amazing!

I often wondered, how many words does it take to paint an accurate and powerful picture of an event. I think I just found the answer! These are macro leaps into oblivion! Powerful words, haunting visions and effective warning! Kudos to you!

I put a little different twist on those heavy rains in my piece called

"Rain"
Rain like a curtain,
Turns dry ground into liquid,
The earth is renewed.

But I like yours too. The same rain, two different endings. It's almost poetic in itself that two people can see the same thing, yet come to different conclusions about it.

I wonder if this is the way it will end? I would rather this than radiation poisoning. This is so strong, with so few words used. Great choice of words, Anthony
