Leave You Bleeding
by Debra Rose (Age: 21)
copyright 07-16-2005
Contest Winner

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Soul aching,
Bitter worn and torn down
Living in revelations of yesterday
and images of the ravens beak
bloodied and covered in the flesh
of dreams.
Do you see the signs proclaiming
the road is ending?
We're left pondering
unthinkable quandaries,
tentatively experimenting in avenues
of bondage and human conditions
enhanced by performance drugs and
green tea.
Where does this path lead
other than the inevitable destruction
you wish to take me?
Ropes are leaving perfect markings
on marble flesh--
blood intermingled with fresh maidens cream.
The sky is pregnant again.
Bulbous with clouds, ready to
pour down acid to the city streets.
Where are we going?
Where does this lead?
I watch you, lying forsaken,
I leave you where you are bleeding.

Whoa.........

Very emotional poem expressed in a very powerful
way using very vivid and descriptive phrases and words.
I was moved with every thought.

Somewhat mysterious to me at the end -who is it you leave there bleeding?

Great job!

Eyes open, heart bleeding, reporter, questions, live, a change is always in the wind, waiting a place to drop the seed, and grow... always a cut above.. Walt

I had to come back to this. It describes a world going mad.
I have just read a news item from America.
It is about a 60 years old man who shot his postman 7 times, just so he could go to goal.
He owes thousands of dollars for health care, and can't pay.
He was worried about being thrown on the street, so chose goal instead.
After the shooting he calmly drove to his local police station and turned himself in.
What is going wrong with our society.
Brian.
