I heard this before and it makes perfect sense...

The reason why things that are missing are always in the last place you look is because when you find it, you stop looking. So it makes sense. Things are ALWAYS in the last place you look for them, unless you are really weird and continue searching even after you've found what you were looking for...

Where is that comment button? Oh there it is the last place I looked...also the first! This isn't a thought its a joke. Of course you find it in the last place you look, if it was in the first place you wouldn't still be looking. Wheres that submit button...there it is...
