The hills I climb are green with life
As early dawn lights cloudless skies,
Unfolding beauty to my eyes
Of fields, with floraled tribute, rife,
Untouched by discord, storm or strife.
As I pause watching birds in flight
The caressing of a gentle breeze
Quietly puts my heart at ease
And again I climb up to the light
That starts the day and ends the night.
The more I climb the more I see,
And as the light from day’s new birth
Breaks fully over this great Earth
I raise my eyes, my soul flies free,
These are the gifts God gave to me.

My spiritual faith is only truly refreshed and renewed whenever I spend time with Nature.

Again a beautifully written and very descriptive piece.
You do have a wonderful way of capturing the imagination.
This took me back to 'my' hills.
I love the solitude, the oneness with nature.
The feeling that I can communicate with the life all around me.
Thank you for this, Brian
"I raise my eyes, my soul soars free." If this isn't the image of the enlightened state-- man's nature in accord with all of nature-- I don't know what is.
This is a very well-written and uplifting poem. The Bible says, "I will lift mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." It is wonderful to be inspired by nature, but more important to realize Who made the nature and give Him the worship.
