Where Beauty Lives
by David Pekrul
copyright 06-27-2005

Age Rating: 7 to 127

There’s people tall and people short,
There’s people large and round,
The world is full of different shapes,
Where beauty can be found.

It isn’t just the outer shell,
That holds the beauty true,
In people full of love and grace,
There’s beauty through and through.

There’s beauty in the way they talk,
In gentleness and truth,
There’s beauty in the way they walk,
With wisdom as the proof.

Although she's not be the image of
the girl upon the beach,
And he is not the muscle-man
With bright and shiny teeth,

They’ll always have their beauty, and
It’s wonderful to see,
There’s beauty there for everyone,
It’s there for you and me.

This poem is incredible both words and the meaning. I like it very much.

A person who can see through the self imagery and outer shell of us mere humans is a true lover the inner soul. Too many times people are judged just by their external beauty and sometimes thei inner self is never seen. Excellent.

Your poetry always states, so succintly and elegantly, what really matters most and what is universally human. Nice job, once again!

This is another one I am going to read to my four year old grandson. The message is good, the rolling rhythm is fun to speak and the rhyming is easy on the ear. We will both enjoy the experience. Thank you David, I like this one very much...

You do write very nice. I've seen your picture and can say, I love you anyway because your pretty on the inside! Just kidding, your poem is so true and I enjoyed the read as you can tell! Anthony
