Joy's Sorrow
by Leigh G. (Age: 14)
copyright 08-16-2005

Age Rating: 4 to 127

To every joy there is a sorrow
To every sorrow there is a joy
The bigger the joy the bigger the sorrow
We can love and hate
We all feel these things
Every day of our lives
No breaks
We all have some joy
We all have sorrow
We cry
We laugh
To every joy we have sorrow
To every sorrow we have joy
We all can see what joy and sorrow is
We feel it every day
But over all our lives are Joy's Sorrow

It's Friday. Anything I read or hear echos around in my head. This poem... I have a hard time saying if it's one of your dark ones or not. You have a positive meaning "Every bad thing has a good side" and a negative meaning "Every good thing has a bad side", and both ring equally strong in this poem. I don't know what to say it is. It's awesome, in format and grammar, and you made every point you said say both of your meanings.

So, I'll just tell you it's awesome.

That's because sorrow is measured in terms of Joy and vice versa. Very haunting, which you are extremely good at. It has a good echo effect like Edgar Allen Poe.
Well then, For every dark side there must be a light side.
