Some words of explanation for our American friends.
A 'Newfy' is a person from The Province of Newfoundland.
The 'Rock' is a slang word for The Province of Newfoundland.
Newfoundland is an island and the only way off it, other than by air, is by ferry.
Our sweet northern princess named Heather,
Is hooked on a new kind of feather,
It is not from a moose,
It’s Canadian Goose,
So cozy in all kinds of weather.
Our Canadian Heather’s a Newfy,
Which to most of us sounds kind of goofy,
But to those from the “Rock”,
She’s the belle of the docks,
With her feathers all ruffled and poofy.
Our Heather has moved to the prairies,
She’s tired of travelling on ferries,
She’s now wearing loafers
And chasing poor gophers,
Which makes her all sweaty and weary.

This is one hell of an introducyion to Heathet and her feathers. My oh my she gets around. I am very pleased to have been asked to add to this story further especially with the amazing talents that are also involved. Great work David and thank you.

You are really good at this, I liked these a lot. Thanks for forcing yourself to write more, sorry if your arm is sore where I twisted it! LOL Everyone seems to like these, you should make it a contest! Anthony
Our Heather really gets around doesn't she? I had a friend from Newfoundland once and even after 50 years of living in New England, she never quite got over leaving " The Rock". I could never pronounce Newfoundland in a way that met her approval. They had some really great characters from there, she was one of them. Your limericks are very funny, I can see Heather and the gophers (smile).
