Find Myself
by Jenna T. (Age: 15)
copyright 07-07-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Up this endless flight of stairs I go
Running...running...faster and faster...
Yet, am I really moving forward?
With each step I take,
I feel farther away
Farther away...
From where I yearn to be
This twisting, bending path
Oh, where does it end? I'm falling...
I'm losing my mind...
Where DO I yearn to be?
What am I looking to find?
I cannot think...barely breathing
Now suddenly, here I am
Back at the bottom of the stairs;
At the beginning of the road
Running...running...faster and faster...
Yet, am I really moving forward?
With each step I take,
I feel farther away,
Farther away...
Here I go again
Back to the beginning
Searching, desperately
to find myself.

This is a really good poem. I feel this way sometimes. Very weird but the message in it is so clearly true. Good Write :)

I loved this. It has this weird feeling to it, but the message is clear with it. It's tragic feeling and then ends to a relaxing feeling. Good job.

I feel like this most of the time, wonderful poem

I liked reading this. The helter skelter pattern really adds to this and the confusion is portrayed so well. Good job, Anthony

Jenna, you have a wonderful style of writing. Your poems show words in total action, motion! I love to read your poems, they have a way of taking me from point A to point B and when I think it's safe, I'm back to point A again! Your imagery is also outstanding and your words flow with the greatest of ease. Keep writing, don't ever stop!
