Dracula
by Roger Crique (Age: 52)
copyright 07-10-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

  Dracula
Picture Credits:

By the light of the moon;
an ashen face returns to life.
Bloodshed eyes slowly open;
Dried-up lips regenerate.

Blood is on his mind.
Blood he craves tonight.
The lid of the coffin loudly squeals;
the rusted hinges slowly loosen.

Bats scatter in a frenzy.
Their master has returned.
A pungent odor permeates.
The walls tremble as he rises.

He is evil incarnate;
wrapped in ebony cape.
Blackened eyes piercing in the darkness;
Velvet wings in eerie embrace.

The Master has returned;
His eyes are focused now.
Leap of horror into space.
Blood dripping from his fangs.

Tonight he shall return;
to the loneliness of night.
Lock the windows of your mind;
for tonight might be your turn.

I liked the imagery- life always has a surprise waiting for us - and unfortunately not always pleasant. Keep your eyes open. Greg Kis

ewe to be bitten by Dracula, how romantic, It might almost be worth it to feel his mouth on my neck just one time, his warm breath, and firm grip around my hair, cold chills up and down my body, and completly limp like a kitten in it mothers mouth, Dracula can suck my blood, bite me anyday lol

I liked this very much on two levels. The description of Dracula coming to life was very vivid and all to easy to picture. I immediately thought of all the Dracula movies that scared me to death over the years. On another level, I thought about all the propaganda being insidiously spread by the 'bloodsuckers' in political and religious groups and thought the metaphor of Dracula coming to life preparing to return as master very appropriate...So I will guard the windows of my mind in case they are coming for me...Very interesting write Roger.

Hay, that Dracula guy sucks, literally. This is a spooky write and now I'm scared to turn off the light! Anthony
