Perspective
by Rene Laris
copyright 07-20-2005

Age Rating: 1 to 127

I love the word Perspective.
It's how I'm looking through the glass.
Am I seeing through it,
or focusing on thought's of past?

I'm beginning to see clearer,
as I'm walking through the pain.
Like looking in a mirror,
a reflection of what's not the same?

I'm starting to believe, that living for today,
is all I have to do, to help me on my way.

As I behold the love and joy,
of those whom I have met.
I'm learning how to do and say,
things I won't regret.

To walk the walk, in honesty.
To thy self be true.
Brings such peace and serenity.
That will get me through.

Life is a gift, I misunderstood,
until I saw it , face to face.
And realized, that God has given,
To us all, His abundant Grace.

Let me add my welcome.
I do hope you enjoy this great site and the wonderful company.
I do like your poem, I hope it is the first of many.
Debra Rose was right with her quotation. It is a good one to live by.
If one is not true to oneself, how can one be true to others.
Of course a word once spoken, can never be reclaimed.
Keep writing, Brian.

Sorry, I have no more points to give, but I'll put my two cents, if that's okay with you! Welcome to PnP, which to me stand for: People Need Poetry. Whether the glass is empty or full is a matter of perspective and choice. Your poem is very demonstrative of that. Great Job!
