The drums are beating,
my thoughts conceiving
what is the best attack?
I've seen your write
and thought that I might,
do this and send it back!
I don't knock David's hair,
that would not be fair.
I have to remember his age.
The fact that he's old,
and if I'm not to bold,
the picture even needs a cage.
I know your not wild,
that Jacks not a child,
Roger is a philosopher wanna-be.
Its with smiles I'm trying
to be nice to Brian
and all my friends at P-N-P.
Mary is so wise,
they call her "Bryt-Eyz"
Looking through rose colored glasses.
Then there is Jim,
You know about him
and his poem about happy asses.
Though Jim straddles The Fence
It seems to make sense
he is still one of my Blood Brothers.
Capturing my fascination
with awe-struck admiration,
Jean is one of the others.
Strange dreams are scary,
Deployment heroes weary,
She survived the service I say.
Something we all know
is that Kathryn Voletto
will be able to stop running someday.
Will you remember me?
My name is Chelsea,
I know I have never seen you before.
Wash it all away,
Theron gone in May,
My fairy nightmare some more.
Then there's Debra Rose
with that cute little nose.
As you say the family Juggalette.
If she could have her way,
if they'd just do what she'd say
out of the problems we'd get.
Forget, Oh No!
About SamiJo!
You know this could not be.
Its Nonsense that she talks,
Midnight Rose Garden she walks.
Ignorance is in the following you see.
The drums are still beating
and my pen is bleeding
its ink all over the page.
Sweetest Moments are sunny
mixed with Bitter Honey.
In Russia Irina's the rage.
Emily has a dreamers wish,
I can attest to this.
That dreams do come true.
John G. has adopted me,
now he won't leave P-N-P.
he can write about Girls for you.
Amanda's Purple Moon
checks out way too soon.
Like Jeniffer's Hotel Frustrations.
Makes us all wonder
how Jonathon from down under,
survives Daily Grind indignations.
Andrew is finally back.
Deone's Basic Training we lack
and what can we say about Buddy?
Delaney is no fool.
Caitlin is cool,
even if she wants Mike muddy!
Then there is MacDonald,
I don't mean Ronald.
Breakfast this one will scorch.
Doesn't like the mud,
so I'll tell you bud,
you better stick to the porch!
We could spin Charlotte's web
or go to Holland instead,
just, by reading her poem.
When Faith Disappears
you must face your fears,
without Staring Away you'll show-em.
We can't be forsaken,
Pilgrim poet is making
something that's got him antsy.
Dave's still in a cage,
Irina's the rage,
and no Cancer will be hurting Nancy.
Maybe one more or two,
Stephen and Rene that's new,
without Pierre or Rebecca we'd falter.
I've read all from Sut-un,
but now this is done,
yet not till I mention Walter.
Now with all I've said,
got it out of my head.
I can jump up and down, I'm done!
Now I'm going to fill a need,
go to Leigh's page and read,
and get lost in Oblivion.
Nothing is ever finished,
though interest may diminish,
my heart will always be true.
I love each and every one.
Yea Roger even you, Hun.
and only wish the best for all of you!

Yes, I look through rose colored glasses,
and I may at times appear to be wise,
and more so if you get what I've written,
and hidden in between the lines
Thank you for the honorable mention
for including me in your write
But now I find I must return the favor
It's the least I can do to be polite!
*tears in her eyes with a bitter sweet smile on her face* Anthony, you are my one true friend. Never have I seen such a work done in my entire life. It is true, my Nightmare has never ended, it is only the start of the chapter, but in time my heart will mend. As long as I have friends just like you. I can not thank you enough for touching my heart with this particular piece of art work. I hope you dont mind, but I am going to paste it in my scrap book of poetry.
Anthony, thanks so much for including me this time wround. I have a feeling your peom will never be finished becuase there are always going to be new writers here at P-n-P that will bear inclusion. Wonderful work.
Nancy
I'm sitting here, sniffling, cause I'm not in it, but that's okay! Awesome job. Just means I need to write more to get myself out there. ^_^ Keep it up and take care!
I'm in it! I'm in the poem! Wow!
Wonderful!
I just could not do this. My fault, I know. Don't read nearly enough about what the writers write here. My fault or my work? Probably both.
"Chapeau", as we say in French. I lift my hat to you (hoping this is the right expression).
Nice work.
Anthony, my eyebrow still raised, I say with disgrace, this is horribly funny! It takes a large brain and lots of protein to write something like this. But hey, I hear people say that everything in Texas is big. I hope their right, he, he!!! By the way, you better spell my name right! Remove the S please! I honestly love this!
Woah this was perfect! I'm so happy I'm in it, even though it was like two lines and Debra got a whole stanza. Oh well, I'll stop complaining. And I love the fact that you got it all to rhyme and make the statements true. Ha, it makes me want to write about members! Hmm I think I should do that. Yes, yes, I should. Oh, and stop making fun of David's beard!!! lol.
And the winner is..........Anthony Lane Stahlhut. Now how do you expect us to follow this with our own contest entry (wryly grinning)? I am going back to the drawing board for another try since I just trashed my first one after reading this (grimly smiling with renewed inspiration). This may take awhile!
