You Left me, He wants me
by Leah Garrison (Age: 20)
copyright 07-24-2005

Age Rating: 16 to 127

You left me broken with nowhere to hide
You left me shaking and quaking inside
What was I supposed to do?
Just give up and forget about you?

He held me close while I cried all my tears
His heart would break when I told him my fears
What was I supposed to do?
To a corpse of love be true?

You thought that I might hold on for too long
You thought that I never could do you wrong
What was I supposed to do?
Never move on to anyone new?

He said that I was so gorgeous to him
He said that I filled his heart to the brim
What was I supposed to do?
Deny that my affection grew?

You left me broken with nowhere to hide
You left me shaking and quaking inside
What was I supposed to do?
He showed me I could move past you.

It's easier than you would think to get up and move on, but at first it seems impossible. Great subject, but it didn't flow so well at some parts. Keep up the good work!

WOW Leah...your writing has done nothing but get better and better. It's such an exciting thing to see how much it grows!

It's sad how some people, even after they leave you, still expect you to hold onto them. They want you all for themselves, even when they don't want to be faithful. This was a work that left me breathless!

This is a great poem. I'm glad that you moved past you. I'm sure you will find someone that truly likes you for who you are. You may never know it could be the person that you talked about in the poem, the one that helped you. I really really enjoyed the first and last stanza. Keep up the great work.

I'm glad that you were the one that realized this relationship was not the right one. You deserve to be happy. Good luck.
