How to Italicize Stuff and More
by Andrew Findlay (Age: 37)
copyright 07-27-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Debra Rose recently e-mailed me to let me know how to italicize things. I'm kind of new to this myself and I'm not sure this will work.

hello

As you can see above, it is possible. Here is what you have to do.

When you want to start italicizing something, type in the code . You have to remove the wavey line marks from what I just wrote. I had to include them in my example otherwise you wouldn't see the code and it would just italicize what I'm writing.
OK, so when you want to stop your words from being italicized just type in . Again, you have to type it in without the wavey line marks.

Now, my massive intellect has already shown me a pattern here. The 'i' stands for italics. So lets see if I can do a bold print using a 'b' in place of the 'i'.

hello

OK, it worked!

So, for bold it would be to start it and to end it. Remember to remove the wavey line marks when you actually type it in or else it won't work.

So, let's get crazy and try italicizing and bolding at the same time.

Hello

Excellent. I just checked this and it works! To do both at once, you just have to start both, then end both.
In the following example, the word hello would be in bold and italicized.

hello

Just remember to type it in without the wavey line marks. Now, I'm also guessing that underline is the same except with a 'u' instead of the 'i'.

Hello

OK, I think it worked. There might be other things you can do, but I can't think of any other letters to use that would have an effect.

So there you go. The three or four people who read this now knows how to use italics, bold and underlining.

Good luck. And remember, have fun when you're writing, because otherwise, what's the point?
