Hockey War
by David Pekrul
copyright 07-30-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Imagine life without a war,
And just a hockey game to score,
When countries start to point the blame,
They take it out in a hockey game.

If someone threatens our coastline,
We face-off on the centre-line,
A slap-shot and a body-check,
By the hockey team from old Quebec.

We'd never need a military,
A hockey team is much more scary,
Instead of running all amuck,
The one who wins, controls the puck.

The winner of this hockey war,
Would best be known as "Hockey Corps",
We'd celebrate a "Hockey Hour",
With Canada, the World Power.

I think it would be so much cooler if we could fight wars through a hockey game. That's really cool!

*Ping pong tournaments??!?!?

I like this idea. Solving disputes with a game rather than with all out war. Actually, there are some cultures who solve disputes in a similar fashion. Instead of an all out war, they each choose one warrior to fight it out. Which ever warrior wins, their tribe wins the conflict. Also there are cultures from parallel Earths that actually use games like hockey or poker to decide the fate of nations-most notably is the Earth at quantum coordinates P1.742n whose people use ping pong tournaments to choose their presidents and leaders(don't ask!).

This is a great idea David. However, I think you have the wrong game.
There can be only one.

Cricket.,,,,,lol

Or it might be an idea for the politicians, and their war mongering business partners, to fight it out in a field, just like the gladiators of old.
The difference being, the winners take all. The losers get eaten by the winners, raw.
This might make them think before acting.
Brian.

Ah hockey puck, that was a slap shot to the rest of the Hockey playing world. You know I've been to the games and you and those two other Canadian fans can surly make a lot of noise! LOL I think maybe we should settle it with Bull Riding, that way someone would buck off and the other would win! Anthony U.S.A. All The Way! ( and I thought people from Ohio seemed up north!)
