The Perception of Power

by Roger Crique (Age: 56)

Why do you walk without looking?
Why do you think you’re above?
Money has no power!
Power is an attribute of God!

When you separate yourself,
your house burns and falls!
Your foundation is shaken
And your spirit is tested.

To the abyss; your loftiness is dashed.
And you have no choice but to eat dirt!
Your influence takes you to the desert;
where snakes and scorpions reside.

Your affluence renders you a loner;
Apart from your brother in need.
Thus, your fields are struck
And lightning sets them ablaze!

Your priceless china is scattered about.
Your picture frames broken and strewn.
When the hill your house stands on collapses;
Your dreams are broken indeed!

When you reach your highest ground;
Don’t forget, the Earth can shake,
And bring into your day, the darkest of your night.
The sun will rise again;
But your house will never stand!

So how do I make my house stand, what power do I possess, nothing, then why even try. I have no house to speak of but I have been working on my foundation for awhile, and I think when it is built even when the earth shakes my integrity will hold you and will not break, because I have not built my foundation with money but with truth, and love sent from heaven above and it is all inside of me. It might not look like much but no one can ever take it away from me. I might get frustrated sometimes but then I read these lines, your words lift me up beyond compare and then again my cross I can bare. Good job. Thank you

your Regina

This reminds me of the story in the Bible about the rich man gloating about how rich he was, and that his barns were full, and God said to him that
"this day your soul will be required of you."
"For what does it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul."

You have painted quite a picture here. If only some would take notice.
