  The Surprise!

The wind picked up today and things were blowing all over everywhere. I had been trying to get everything into place, but sometimes surprises are difficult to make happen, I guess thats what makes the successful ones so good. This surprise is was going to replace the Wedding that we have little evidence of,I guess I should give you a little more insight into whats going on! We'll have to travel back in time to June 26th some 11 plus years ago. When I first married my wife, the wedding had only one small glitch. The photographer was the only guest that did not make it to the wedding. Because this was before disposable cameras and only one person actually had a camera, We have only one picture of our first wedding! Luck would have it that the rest of the roll of film (the only one that was taken) got overexposed. Only one picture made it! My wife and I had done all the decorating and every thing was perfect...well except the photographer not showing up!
Now we skip almost 11 years to what our surprise is all about. I had always told my wife that out of a rating of 1 to 10, she was an eleven. It only seemed fitting to do this surprise on the eleventh anniversary of our wedding. You see for some time( with the help of my daughters, and they deserve a lot of credit for how smoothly it went)I had been planning another wedding.
This time I made sure that there were many cameras. We put one on every table and asked everyone to take all the pictures that could be taken. I had all the children there except one(we have 5 so its is very difficult to get them all together, two in Arkansas, one in New York and two here in Texas.)The original church was taken, but we found a place for the event. Early that morning the girls came over to go shopping with their mother ( though she did not know it was really all just to get her out of the house) Without telling my wife, they had gotten her a wedding dress and all the things necessary for the bride. The dress and all the extras were at my daughters house and after the girls all went shopping, my daughter said she needed to drop by her house for a minute. When they arrived at my daughters house they began the surprise by showing my wife a blindfold and proclaiming that she had to wear it from then on. My wife agreed to it and they led her blindfolded into the house. There they, after much persuading, removed her clothes and dressed her in her wedding dress(still blindfolded).
While all this was going on I was doing the last minute decorating and putting everything into place(again much credit goes to my children) The guests all arrived on time and everything was going just wonderfully. My son and son in laws were all my groomsmen and my daughters all bridesmaids, everyone dressed to the hilt! They led her into the building (still blindfolded)and onto the red carpet. Once she was at the entrance the wedding march started and they removed the blindfold. She then saw for the first time what was going on. She was walking down the isle, (in a wedding dress that she had never seen, to a wedding party of all her children, she did not even know they were in town till that very minute, surrounded by all our friends and family's, with cameras going off everywhere) to her prince! (got to get me in there as someone good) Someone was watching over this and helping because everything and I mean everything was perfect! Even our grandchildren were there and they played the parts of ring bearer and flower girls very well. Of course I wrote special vows and there were lots of good tears. She said yes again(I was hoping she wouldn't run away)and we were married! The rest of our life hasn't been a honeymoon, but it is a great partnership.
We got lots of pictures of our "Wedding" now and memories for a lifetime. I'm not sure if this was what you wanted, but you said you wanted romance and I did give her flowers and a box of candy too! I was fortunate to love two women in my life. The second forever if she'll have me!

I'm crying, that's beautiful, I have never even been married once, I had a ring on my finger and a brand new car to entice me once, we were together 7 years, have children, but never married and now I have been by myself for 2 year, said love was for suckers, and now I guess, I am a sucker, I'm still crying! Great write, thank alot lol.

I think your original and heartfelt words more than make up for the lost roll of film. She seems like she melts in your arms! By the way, your hair here is anything but nerdy and you look like a hunk. Any girl would be won over by a poet who looks like he can kick some ass!
Just kidding! Great write.

Well, if that ain't the sweetest thing I've ever read! I can't imagine what was reeling through her mind when the blindfold came off. That's a helluva surprise!

This is the only picture of our first wedding. I had gotten my hair cut it was all the way to my waist. No beard though, David still wins that contest!
