My Time At School

My Time At School

At first I went to Sunday School,
And there I learned the Golden Rule,
To love my neighbour as myself,
For that is where we find our wealth.

And then I went to Public School,
And there I learned to break the rules,
I found it hard to go each day,
Although I knew I had to stay.

I didn’t like to study much,
I always found it such a fuss,
To hit the books and study hard,
And for exams I’d no regard.

The teachers tried to do their best,
But I was always such a pest,
In class I’d often cause a scene,
But I was just a normal Teen.

I played a trumpet in the band,
But from the group I once was banned,
For terrorizing Mr. Isles,
I really was a bratty child.

Then graduation finally came,
“It’s finally over”, I exclaimed,
“There’s no more pencils, no more books,
And no more teachers dirty looks.”

Then off I went to Bible School,
And learned again the Golden Rule,
And it was there I met my wife,
And finally settled down for life.

the mini-poem about graduation was cute.

As Anthony said the rhyme flows suberbly! And it tells such an cute little story. I enjoyed this ever so much, it was just adorable!

This reads like a part a book and I love the story. Your rhymes are good and the rhythm is great. You have done a good job! Anthony
