College Romance
by David Pekrul
copyright 08-09-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

In the college cafeteria,
On the first day I was there,
A little girl sat next to me,
With very curly hair.

I wondered then, "Who could this be?"
She looked just like some kid,
Who wandered in from off the street,
And in this school she hid.

It turned out she attended here,
I thought she was a brat,
And we could never be real friends,
So that was that, in fact.

I wouldn't even talk to her,
For I'd made up my mind,
That she was never meant for me,
But love is often blind.

And then one day in study-hall,
I saw her standing there,
A smile upon her lovely face,
And skin that was so fair.

Now that was many years ago,
A family we have raised,
That girl is mine until I die,
Our love will never fade.

Love will last a lifetime and to have it returned to you is great. You are a lucky man to know the love of a good woman for so long. I have been married more than once and this time I really hope it will be forever. The one before....well lets just say, " I'm glad my X's don't live in Texas!" This is a good poem, Anthony

I imagine that your wife must feel very proud to have this poem written for her.
I do like the sentiment.
I've often wondered what it must be like to be with the same woman for life.
Brian.
