  Small Miracles

Everywhere I look
No matter where I go
I see small miracles.

I see a baby growing to be a happy child,
a friend comforting a crying me
a cloudless, blue sky.

I hear laughter from those I love,
a gentle breeze in the trees,
a choir of birds chirping their happy song.

I feel the caress of a hug,
a beam of sunlight on my skin,
a breeze tussling my hair.

I smell dinner cooking on the stove,
an ocean from far away,
a small, pink wildflower.

I taste very sweet candy,
a cup of hot tea with honey,
a tear falling down my cheek.

These precious small miracles
we pass them by so often,
but make sure to appreciate them
before they are gone from your life.

Not half bad. This is a cute poem in presentation, but has a deeper meaning. It's true that very amazing things happen all around us all the time, even though we just don't bother to look so we don't see them after awhile. because they become what we call: daily life. It happens to all of us, whether we want it to or not. You should capitalize each line, you've got a few grammar errors, and you don't necessarily need punctuation at the end of every line. You're getting better, keep writing.

May the divine darkness be with you,
Leigh of the Commenting Crusaders

I must admit, Euana, you are a Hemingway in the making. This is a beautiful poem, and I agree with your opinion. Everything around you is in some way a miracle. You just have to drag yourself away from the TV, computer, or book and open your eyes. Even a mistake is a miracle, because it makes us learn. Though you may not believe it, school is a miracle in a way, too. Think of how some children can't even go to school! Would you like to live your life without knowing what five plus four is?
And let me tell you something. Your parents can die any day. I know this, for one of my friend's parents died of an illness. Have a day and appreciate your parents. They can leave your life any day.
GOOD JOB, EUNA!

I really like this poem...too many people look over these small miracles everyday...including me...well, I'll look closer now, because I want to see these small miracles too! good job, keep up the good work!

This is a great poem! you are right, we do tend to forget all "little miracles"

This is a really wonderful and uplifting poem. It is nice to see someone look on the positive things in life and appreciate all the little things that happen around us. This is very well written.
Thanks for sharing.

I've always suspected that character and wisdom come in many sizes and they're not limited to age. I've just confirmed that! I am taken aback by your writing skills and your unique way of expression. The best poetry is not the complex one, it is the one that has a special touch to it, filling our being with a sense of something that sometimes we can't explain. This poem extracts all those wonderful moments that makes us feel alive and puts them in a context that is easy to appreciate. Your poetry has this, "something," and I hope you harness it and can move mountains with it. So far, you're definitely on your way!

You are completely right.
People ignore these small miracles every single day.
life has become about having the most money, or the best clothes.
but, what I've noticed is babies, or younger children, do notice these thigns.
I mean, tehy marvel at a pretty butterfly.
maybe the younger us knew tings the older we do not.
anyway, I love the fact that you notice these samll miracles, and you have inspired me to be more attentinve to these 'small miracles'
anyway, welcome to p-n-p, and happy writing.
