Veggies

We’re told to eat our vegetables,
Before we have dessert,
Well, that’s okay for others, but
For me it doesn’t work.

I really love my sugar,
It’s the best thing on my plate,
But I’ll still eat my vegetables,
From them I can’t escape.

I really hate those vegetables,
I’ll save them ‘til the last,
Then swallow them with water, so
I get them down real fast.

I never understood why people don't like veggies. I dig 'em.

This poem is adorable.

Gotta love this poem. Interesting topic and loved the way you put it together in rhyme.

My father had a new twist,.... if you did not eat it all for dinner...it was breakfast! I learned to eat the veggies first and save the good stuff to enjoy last. Except brussel sprouts...they were terrible any and every time, still don't like even the smell. Kids think they have it rough now!If you have ever read my main page you would know about brussle sprouts. LOL This was a fun trip down memory lane, Anthony

This brings back memories. As a child, I hated spinach. My father loved it. We were made to sit at the dining table until we finished every last horrible strand.
If you have never tried cold soggy spinach, you don't know what your missing, (or not).
Thanks David for re-awakening this particular memory.
However, to be honest, I don't mind it now,,,,,,,lol.
Brian.
