Daily Miracles
by Euna P. (Age: 15)
copyright 08-28-2005

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Green lights when driving
a picture from your little sister
a cup of hot coffee you didn't make
These are daily miracles.

No mistakes when playing violin
an unexpected phone call from a friend
being able to laugh
These are daily miracles.

Sunshine throughout the day
A cloud that looks like a bunny
a kiss from your dog
These are daily miracles.

A bar of chocolate as a present to you
finding a childhood toy
fresh air to breathe
These are daily miracles.

Finding pictures from years ago of people you forgot
passing a playground swarming with children
green grass outside
These are daily miracles.

There are so many of these small miracles
but they are clouded
by the hustle and bustle
of our daily lives.

We forget these so easily
and our day becomes dreary, and depressing
when the sun shines
and the grass is green

We don't spare a second glance
at the cloud like a bunny
or the playground
or the tall oak outside.

We don't pay attention to
the cup of coffee we didn't make
the hug you got from a child
the sunshine falling warm on your face.

We darken ourselves
with problems of the day
the week
the month.

We worry that we aren't good enough.
but as long as you're good enough for yourself
that should be good enough
for everyone.

If it's not,
that's their problem, not yours.
Don't let other people's opinions
throw your day down the drain.

This day will never come again.
No amount of money will bring it back.
So try notice the daily miracles
that come your way.

You'll start wondering
how you thought your day was bad
and why you dreaded today,
yesterday.

You days will become so much brighter if you do
I guarantee this.
It doesn't cost anything,
nothing at all.

So how would you like to have
a better day
and not have to pay
a single dollar?

The only thing you have to pay
is attention
to the daily miracles
so....

For the rest of the day
try to notice all of the daily miracles.
I hope you find a better day today
than you did yesterday.

HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

Good work. All your poems are the semi dark kind that have fitting tiles and are about he many facts of life that we should think of more and try to enjoy that always end up overlooking. Mostly because we're in too much of a hurry to look. One think that's PnP related: short comments. Notice how I always end my comments? E-mail me if you're interested in the Commenting Crusaders.... Anyhow, you've got a few typos and starting every line with a capital letter is suggested. You're a really good writer, keep up the good work.

May the divine darkness be with you,
Leigh of the Commenting Crusaders

very good work. Celebrate today because you just might not have tomorrow. What if tomorrow never comes? Has it yet? and I quote "the past is history, the future's a mystery, but today is a gift that's why it's called the present. just one typo.

Very upbeat and positive. There is a hymn that says, "Count your many blessings, see what God has done." This reminds me of that hymn.
