It's Mother's Birthday!
by Roger Crique (Age: 52)
copyright 08-11-2005

Age Rating: 4 to 127

For the children in all of us

Once upon a time, there lived a Mother,
and in good nature, she had four daughters.
It was Mother’s birthday and all brought her gifts.

The oldest daughter was very springy
and brought her flowers and fruits.
The second daughter had a sunny disposition;
She was very bright and brought her rays of sunshine.

The third daughter was always dancing in the wind and falling to the ground
She brought her yellowish brown leaves and branches for the fire.
The fourth was as white and as pretty as snow and made ice castles with her breath
She brought her ice cream and popsicles made of icicles.

The father was very patient and had lots of time on his hands.
He was a watch maker and a season shaker;
He brought her a beautiful golden time piece.
He showed her how to manage time more efficiently.

And so, Mother was very happy.
All her daughters brought her gifts
And her husband took the time to join them.
But she was even happier when they all went out together
For it seems that there was nothing Mother Nature liked best
Than to be with her daughters: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter
And her lovely husband Father Time!

Oh yeah Father time I had forgot all about that man. I have lost all respect for that system, I treat it like a red headed step child who doesn't listen. j/k

This reads like a fairy-tale. Sounds like a wonderful bedtime story. Good work.

Well this certainly connected with the child in me. Thank you.
A very imaginative and unusual look at the seasons.
I'd like to think that mother had a favourite daughter in spring. As of course would father. After all it's the time of rebirth.
Thank you, Brian
