Unlike James, I like to read this one-dimensionally; that it in fact talks of a physical mountain, such as Everest. Describing it as if it were a woman is a nice touch, like describing a ship as a 'she'. I'm sure much more could be read into this, but I like the mountain story all by itself.
Boy, I see a lot of conflicting, yet very real admixture of emotions, here. I see the desire for plain sex, mixed with need to feel this as power and domination. Yet, I also see an honest vulnerability and weakness, the main character shrinking from the anger of the person he so desires. This is an honest, frank piece of writing.
