Argh...Can I just watch anime PLEASE?

Hi. I really am not feeling kindly towards my parents in the area of anime and manga. I don't hate manga, or anime, just because of my parents. They errrrrrr...'highly disapprove' of anime and manga. If someone will email me about what has happened from the beginning, I would really appreciate it. *sheepish grin* I know lots of people wouldn't like doing that, but yeah, I'm seriously THAT clueless on Sailor Moon. No joke. *SOB* I wish my parents would approve on anime and manga. They don't want be to be to 'into' anything, except study study study. "Get into a good college Euna; It's the opportunities that count Euna no matter what you want to be; We understand you want to win the Newbury Award at a young age, but we don't approve of that. Wait until you're sixty or so, or wrinkly and old to write a book. You'll have more EXPERIENCE." Don't get me wrong, I do love my parents, but ARGH. It really gets me mad! We pay $20.00 a month of cable, and we don't even use it! Once a week half an hour show is what I get to do. My parents do news from the Internet. My dad watches sports every day. My mom likes Korean dramas where everything is about who likes who, and how much money you have. They both watch about 3 hours a week each. I get half an hour every Saturday. Joshua, my little brother, has about two to three hours a week.
Sorry if you're reading this. I rant like this to myself in my room, but it's not the same. I want to be heard, but if I even mention this to my mom and dad (me liking anime and manga) they literally raise the roof. Not really. They sit me down for a 'talk' about how TV rots your brain, and how those shows are just for money. I say Joshua watches about four times to six times more TV than I do, and they healed people for money too. (They're doctors.) "We save people's lives, does TV do that? Joshua is seven, a 5 year difference." They make me want to scream at them.
Sorry about this. You're reading how my dark side is like. I have to rant every once in a while. Maybe more than other people. I don't know. I wish my parents saved me the trouble and just let me watch Sailor Moon. But I'm so far behind, it doesn't really matter now. ROAR.

When I got a Gundam Wing DVD, my father said I was wasting my money on cartoons. When I got the Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz manga, my half-sister said I was wasting money on something I would finish in five minutes. When I asked my mother what she thought of manga, she said I was blowing money on "comic books". I have had to fight an uphill struggle with my family just to be able to pursue my interest in anime, so I know where you come from. Anyway, I am now a Gundam Wing/Sailor Moon/Naruto fan that encounters no resistance from my family, but it appears that you do not have such tolerant parents. If you could talk them into it, I would recommend showing them a particular manga/anime and let them see for themselves what it is all about, then ask them their opinion afterwards.
Try to at least convert your brother... he might be able to provide a little leverage with your parents! If that does not work, I do not know what else to tell you to try. Some people are more open to new ideas then others, I suppose... but it never hurts to try! If all else fails, know that there is a community of anime fans waiting for you here!

I have just the solution. If you are on the computer doing nothing, go to YouTube.com (no caps) and write under search 'Sailor Moon ep. 1' or just 'Sailor moon 1' this will take you to the anime. If you want the PGSM, than write 'PGSM' and the ep. you want. Most ep. are about 30 minutes but it's worth at leased two ep. a day (That's me). I know for sure the anime me is what I said but I'm not sure of the PGSM. Every now and then, you have to search the whole site just to find what you are looking for. Hope this helps. Also, if you have a credit card(ha)you can order mangas from the computer and they will send them to you. I'll e-mail you with more details. Talk to you later.

Man! I didn't know I was lucky. I my self, find my life to be unlucky! I must say this your parents restictions are HELLISH! Okay just had to get the opionated word of less then steller languidge out of my system. Try the I'm only gunna be 12 once thing that might get them to ease up a bit. Or my personal enemey, tears. (I DON'T cry ever!) (okay I do if someone I know dies but thats a difrent story...) If that doesent work than your parents have some mega problems. Yeah I know I talk too much. But thats me. Well I'll shut up before this comment turns into a E-mail!
Wow... Euna I am totally understand you, my parents do the same thing, I was thinking that my parents are kind people or something like that, but they not. I spend 9 years away from them (look to my bio and you will understand) and now I realized that they was not like I thought they was. I like anime, manga, comics and movies, I love writing stories and poems, this is my life this is who I am really are and they are against all this. Only one thing they say to me "Study, study, study, you must become a doctor." (to your surprise my mother is a doctor too)it so annoying and I do not want become a doctor, I want to be a archaeologist like my grandfather and I want to write stories and poems. Is it so difficult to understand?

Wow, that really sucks. Sometimes parents mean well, but they become over protective and this can lead to disagreements. Try talking to your parents about it again and try to tell them reasons why you should be able to watch anime/read manga. If you come up with a good enough reason, they might ease up a little.
Gezz Euna. You didn't have to write a moonnote about not watching anime. Who are you talking to? Who do u talk to all the time? Who is like one of ur friends? ME! THE QUEEN OF ANIME(Well, not really but i watch and read A LOT). I know the story of Sailor Moon form the beginning to the end. *sarcastically* I wonder why you didn't talk to me about this... *sarcastically* Anyways whenever you have the time to talk to me I could spend like 4 hours talking about anime and how the story goes like.
Well, I don't think Sailor Moon is on TV anymore, and you can Download the full English Manga from torrents. or if you want, I can talk to Bob and see if he would be okay with me sending it to you as soon as I finish downloading it :) That way, you'll be able to read the manga from the beginning!
I don't see why some parents are so against it. It really helps increase your creativity, and while I know they want the "best" for you, you do need to enjoy your childhood and you should have fun now. If you want, I can send you the manga when it finishes loading on my computer (maybe two or three days) and that way you can read it on your computer. If you're afraid of your parents finding it, save it on a disk or cd or something :) But that way, you'll know all about it!
