Your Beauty Is Temptation
by David Pekrul
copyright 08-17-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I'm not usually into syrupy, gushy poems, but I was in a syrupy, gush mood.

Quiet is the morning time,
And lonely is the day,
And empty is my broken heart,
The day you went away.

You took the sunshine and the moon,
You took the stars above,
You left me in this empty space,
When you betrayed my love.

I trusted you with all my heart,
I thought that you were true,
And then you fell for someone else,
And left me feeling blue.

They say it can be difficult,
When loving one so fair,
Your beauty is temptation,
And it’s more that some can bear.

But it was not your outer charm,
That made me fall in love,
Your sweet and gentle spirit,
Is a gift from up above.

I wonder if the one you met,
Has feelings just like me,
Or is the beauty of your face,
The only thing he sees.

I pray you have a happy life,
And all your dreams come true,
But if you do come back to me,
I’ll love you through and through.

Even before I saw the picture, I knew you were a big gushy teddy bear! I'm sorry that I have missed this until now for it was my loss. Sometimes the most rugged is brought to their knees. My grandfather could hardly get around in his last few years, but if one of his great great grandchildren was there he would be crawling around on the floor after them. This is a very nice poem, Anthony

It is gushy and heartfelt, but grammatically correct and well-rhymed.
