My Challenge

See the things in life. Bad things surround you. You can't see anything else. You want to die, and go somewhere else without all these bad things. Where there is eternal beauty. Guess what. You head for eternal suffering if you do go. In the Ten Commandments, "Do not commit suicide."
If you want to die because you think no one sees you, you are selfish. Selfish. I say again you are selfish! Your life is your most precious possession. You give it up for the sake of being noticed. Noticed by people who won't even be near you any longer; noticed by people whan it's too late. That is pure selfishness. You want them to feel sorry they had treated you badly. Think of all the people who think about you every day. Your friends. 'I don't have any friends.' Your mother. 'I never knew my mother.' Your guardian. The ones who raised you. 'The nuns in the orphanage raised me, they never gave a second thought to us.' My final example for this. The loving Lord. He knows you better than you know yourself. And if you can take a hint...He doesn't want you to kill yourself.
If you want to die because you've felt you've hit the rock bottom, that's crazy. Crazy, cowardly, and insane. You wallow in it, and self-pity reigns. 'How can anyone else be lower than I am? Every person in the world is luckier than the likes of me.' That is self-pity, and by doing that, your scratching at the rock bottom, willing it to go deeper, and hurting yourself in the process. When you've hit the rock bottom, the only way to go is up, and up, and up. Inch by inch. Step by step. Just have the courage take those steps, to go those inches, and hold your head high, go with a smile, and laugh at all the things that try to bring you back down. If you don't let them, they will never bring you down ever again. Inches do eventually turn to miles, hundreds of them. Single steps do eventually become a trip around the world.
So do the world a favor, and live, if not for yourself, but for those around you, who care for you, and the Lord. Life is a war. Decide if you will stand up, and fight, even if you fight alone, or to crumple, and fall. Don't think I'm saying it's going to be easy, nor physical. The answer to your problems, every single one, is to tackle it, destroy it, and turn it into a block of experience. Stand on the block, and fight more. Add more blocks. You will make a tower above all others. When, and think WHEN you've reached the top, you have become wise, and you will have made friends. They will help you in your fight. You will have become a warrior. Now you can use your skills to help other people who were once like you. Save them from the fate that you may have suffered, had you not fought. Help them to fight. Become their friend. There is much to be gained from an act like this. Say hello to strangers. That stranger may want to die, just like you, because no one notices them. You will have saved two lives that day. You will have saved the stranger's, and you will have saved your own. If you want to die, I beg you to live, even if it's just for that one single stranger. I challenge you to do this. Will you accept it?

This really is a great work, and it does seem sincere. While I do like what you have written here(5 points!), I should point out that your argument is slightly flawed. You are basing your argument on the assumption that the person you are talking to is Christian. You mention the ten commandments and you mention God's love as a motivation to keep going on. However, neither of these arguments would be valid if it were aimed at someone who didn't believe in god or someone who is not Christian. I admire your faith(I am Christian, incidentally), and this would be a great thing to help convince a Christian to stay alive.
However, some cultures consider suicide to be an honorable thing in some circumstances-such as when family honor is at stake-like in Japan(in the old days anyway). And some religions consider it to be an honor, in certain circumstances.
I thought all of your arguments were great and you make a really good case against suicide.
Anyway, I hope you're not upset for me pointing this out...as I said, I really did like this. I'm half tempted to erase this comment before I send it, but I think you can handle it. This is really a very controversial topic, and I hope I haven't offended anyone by my slight criticism.

WOW, I was going to write something for that contest, but why? This is better than I could have written and it even has already helped someone to see that life is better than death! 12 maybe in this life, but you still have knowledge from a previous one. (Standing and applauding!) Bravo, Bravo! Great write! Anthony
