  Beaches

There are no beaches where I live,
So, for a beach, I'd gladly give,
My thanks and praise for lovely things,
Like bathing beauties with no 'strings'.

I've been to beaches here and there,
Where some wear suits and some go bare,
Played volley-ball upon the sand,
And then relaxed with drink in hand.

I've been to beaches all around,
For there are none in my hometown,
I've been to Fiji and Key West,
But those in Cuba are the best.

I've seen Tahiti, Southern France,
In Mexico I learned to dance,
And on Hawaii's 'Black Sand Beach',
I've run around on my bare feet.

I've seen Bermuda's fine pink sand,
And Costa Rica's really grand,
There I can play around for days,
And snorkel Papagayo Bay.

The land 'Down Under' is a sight,
With pleasant beaches that are white,
And lovely maidens with no tops,
Who sun all day upon the rocks.

And though I love the place I dwell,
And think that it is really swell,
The beaches of the world still call,
Their beauty is the best of all.

Beaches are DA BOMB!!!! Swimming, and you can go around and play all day, no one will remind you about the work that needs to be done when you go home (unless you're my mom). What do you like to do at the beach? I LOVE boogie boarding, and building a sand castle. That is, I like building the sand castle that is not being trampled on by my little brother and sister. -.-' Anyways, good write!

David,
This is a great poem. Beaches aren't always what they're cut out to be. I happen to prefer being surrounded by snow, how awful in comparison. I loved this poem and I admire the rhymes.

Wow! You have gone to a lot of beaches! I go to the Jersey Shore every summer. My Grandma owns a house in Ocean Beach Unit 1 and I stay with her. I went to a beach in Florida and in Cape Cod. The beaches in Cape Cod are like sitting in Rocks!

Just to correct a mistake.
The castle is not as old as I thought. It was built in fifteen ninety two. 1592
My apologies.
Brian.

I know what you mean about beaches. One of the joys of wandering along a beach is to see what the tide has left.
Rock pools are my favourite. Like tiny worlds. Also a great reason to lay doing nothing while staring into the pool.

Not wishing to cause you to be envious, but I live a quarter of a mile from twenty miles of golden sand. Just off the beach at one end is a seventeenth century lighthouse, none working now. The other end has a castle, it was built during the thirteenth century.
Brian

Its your fault! You make me have to write at my highest level to compete with you! Sometimes I just get lucky! You are making it harder all the time when you write them this good. I bought a new pencil sharpener, look out! Anthony
