I Love Pie
by David Pekrul

  I Love Pie

The Yankees love their Apple Pie,
The Brits, their Custard Pie,
My wife told me she can't make pie,
She knows, for she has tried.

The Dutch have Apple Berry Pie,
The Scottish, Mincemeat Pie,
Italians have Ricotta Pie,
And I have none, "Oh, Why?"

I love that little flaky crust,
That goes with morning tea,
It seems that all the world has some,
But there is none for me.

The Finnish have Karjalan Pie,
Whatever that may be,
The Greeks have Cheese And Spinach Pie,
I'd love a piece with Brie.

So, as the world enjoys their pie,
I eat a simple tart,
For even though I love my pie,
We live a world apart.

This is cute, but NO pie for me. I hate pies. But a very good write indeed.

We Brits have always had a love affair with pies. It's nice to see we are not alone.
At Christmas we have mince pies, but they contain no mince at all. Lol.

The English like their apple pie,
especially, with custard.
They also love rare roast beef,
with good old English mustard.

Maybe I should put some recipies on here.
Brian.

What a nice, unpretentious poem! I'm not too crazy about pie! But I certainly like this poem. You certainly did you homework, here. But I could not help think about your wife, as she must be feeling pretty pissed at you for telling the world that she can't make pies! I think this was an adorable poem, since it will appeal to children and adults alike.

I read this and started to cry,
there is someone out there, same as I.
I like pies of apple or peach,
I'd love to have a piece of each,
I went to satisfy my lust,
but in the pan was only crust!
