Is That What My Life Is?
by David Pekrul
copyright 08-29-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Another day, and I'm alone,
Is that what my life is?
I've gone to work and come back home,
Is that what my life is?

I had some coffee with a friend,
A happy life I did pretend,
But into darkness did descend,
Is that what my life is?

I tried to be a charming guest,
Is that what my life is?
To put on airs and be my best,
Is that what my life is?

Though I have friends for everyday,
I need a woman who will stay,
And share her life with me each day,
Could that be what life is?

I watched some TV all alone,
Is that what my life is?
I sat there waiting by the phone,
Is that what my life is?

But she has turned her back on me,
Now here I am on bended knee,
For one more chance is what I plead,
For she is what life is.

A very sad poem David. Although we know it's not personal to you.
To yearn for something one cannot have can be terribly sad.
Of course the reverse to your poem is that one can be very content and happy living alone. I suppose it depends upon the individual.
Brian.

I really like this form and will have to try one, maybe this is that chance I wanted! We'll see.............This flows really well and I know what you mean by, "she is what life is." I wouldn't want to be without my right hand and she is both of them! Anthony
