Just A Pup

  Just A Pup

She's just a useless little pup,
To love her so does not add up,
I'm wrapped around her doggy paw,
Like it is some new kind of law.

Yet all she does is eat and poop,
I had to buy a Poopy-Scoop,
So I can take her for a walk,
And pick up little things she drops.

And when she's home, she sleeps all day,
Or sometimes she will want to play,
And chase around a rubber ball,
I throw it up and down the hall.

And then at night I go to bed,
With little doggy by my head,
And dream of little "Poopy-Scoop",
Oh, Lord, just how low have I stooped?

My little doggy is the best,
Of that one thing I can attest,
For though she's such a useless pup,
I'll follow her, and scoop it up.

I couldn't help but smile as I read this. It's so cute! In reading your work, I must say that I really admire your ability to make your rhymes and your rhythm seem to work so effortlessly. :)

Good work David. clever use of words, good rhymes and very light-hearted, although it did make me miss my own doggie. Your poems are of great variety and I always look forward to what I will find.

Keep up the good work,

Rich

Debra that is not true, when I use to be single and bring a girl home to eat dinner or something...the dog got more attention than me!( maybe there is another message in that). I have two hemorrhoids, but I love them dearly. We had to buy a king size bed so there would still be room for me and the wife! Dogs are really fun and its always nice to come home to find that someone missed you!(even if it is because its time for their dinner!)This was fun to read, Anthony

Awww!!! I wish I had a puppy. Dogs are the utter best creatures ever, and when you raise them from puppies, they are the most loyal friend you will ever have. Heck, you can count on them to not steal your girlfriends, either!!!! LOL! GREAT work! Utterly adorable!
