Always something I will eat hot, cold or pickled, the lovely beet
Beans like lima, green or yellow, Boston brown baked make my meals mellow
Carrots I like either boiled, stewed or roasted
Do try "peaches and cream" corn, it’s highly boasted
Eggplant deserves a special heading, it's very good panfried in breading
For a soupcon of flavour we enjoy so much
Garlic adds a special touch
However you listed two and twenty, but not my favorites of which there are plenty
I'm crazy about squash: hubbard, acorn or marrow
Just fill up my wheelbarrow
Kale may be okay but I wouldn’t know.
Lettuce try out some salads, you love them I know.
Mom always made soup for a cold winters' day
Now I just love to have vegetables that way.
Once I tried okra, it was pickled of course, we didn’t like it so I fed it to a horse (true story, the horse liked it)
Potato of course, but peppers are fine
Quit while I’m ahead you say, I can’t make them all rhyme
Rarely I bore you with tales that are long,
Spinach made Popeye both healthy and strong
Turnip, I love it, in stew but I wish for
Ultimate asparagus or mushrooms side dish
Vary my meals, even parsnips are good
When teamed up and buttered with other good food.
Xactly why don't yams please your tastebuds? They're in the same family, just sweeter spuds
You'll find they are lovely if cooked right, they'll please.
Zucchini sautéed with tomato and onions ( don’t forget the cheese, please)

That sure is a much wider variety of vegetables than I eat. I had tomatoes this week, not even a vegetable!

Thanks everybody, challenges are so much fun and they get me thinking in new ways, for instance, check out Boys in the Hood. I have never written a short story before and I am loving it. I hope I can do a sequal, CL is calling for one...

This was really cute, Betty. Gave me some ideas that maybe meat and potatos could get a little boring. I'll grab something more at the store next time with this in mind. Jackie

Thanks for answering the challenge, Boog. Noticed a couple of typos...otherwise, I knew you'd do it in poetry, what else??? little sis.
