How Much do You Love Me?

I walked to the Gates of Heaven
and stood before their glory.
I walked within.
I was bathed by all things good.
I saw green things growing
and happiness in abundance.
A crown of olive leaves were placed
upon my head
the symbol of peace, and healing.
I walked onward to the palace of Glory
His golden palace of love and joy,
for the sake of a question.

I knocked, and the door was opened to me.
I was greeted warmly,
and there stood a great feast
where the fruits of Love, Joy, and Laughter grew on a tree
and the rich wine of Happiness in silver goblets
all apon a tree of Goodnesss.
I looked upon the food, and ate with pleasure
laughing and talking among others.
Then I walked to the throne room.
I stood before the golden throne of Jesus.
He, in His glorious power,
so wonderful and loving
and words cannot capture him.
He breaks free of all bindings
and always is beyond our imaginations.
I fell on my knees before Him
and He raised me up.
I looked into His eyes
so kind and full of love.
Then I asked, "Lord, how much do you love me?"
He stood, and answered
"I love you this much."
He stretched His arms wide,
and died.

After reading so many sad poems, I am glad to have read yours. I have to say that for someone so young you have an amazing understanding of the ultimate sacrifice. Keep up the good work and never let anyone steal your joy.

This is good... Sorry, I've got this hot and cold thing with religious poems. I was a Christian...I just read another religious poem, not knowing what I was getting into, and I'm not going to board you with my ranting. This has a good flow and aside from the lack of capital letters at the start of each line, this was a good poem. Keep writing.

Great job Euna! I was alittle shocked at the end, but it was great. I really liked the ending, however much it suprised me. I really liked how this was written, and I liked the flow. The religious feel to it was great.

Keep up the good work!
